SCC JE Recruitment 2026: 1,748 Junior Engineer Posts, Apply Online for Civil, Electrical, Mechanical & Telecom

Short Information : The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 notification for recruitment to 1,748 tentative vacancies for Junior Engineer and Scientific Assistant posts in various Government of India organisations. The recruitment is open to eligible engineering candidates who meet the required educational and other eligibility criteria.Candidates can submit their online applications from 2 September to 22 September 2026. The last date for online fee payment is 23 September 2026 up to 11:00 PM.

As per the SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 schedule, the Computer-Based Examination (Paper-I) is tentatively planned for October/November 2026, while Paper-II is expected to be conducted in December 2026. Candidates interested in these posts should check the eligibility criteria, vacancy details, application dates and exam pattern before applying.

Application Correction Window

SSC JE Recruitment 2026 has announced a total of 1,748 tentative vacancies. These include Junior Engineer posts in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Telecom Engineering, along with Scientific Assistant in IMD. 

SSC JE Selection Process 2026

The SSC JE selection process includes the following stages:

1. Paper-I: Computer-Based Examination; qualifying in nature.
2. Paper-II: Computer-Based Examination based on the relevant engineering subject.
3. Final Merit: Based on normalized Paper-II marks and candidate preferences.
4. Document Verification: Verification of educational, category and other required documents.
5. Final Allocation: Post and department allotted as per merit, preference and vacancy.

Note: BRO Junior Engineer posts also require candidates to meet the prescribed physical, medical and PET requirements.

• Minimum Age : 18 Years
• Maximum Age : 32 Years for CPWD Post Only
• Maximum Age : 30 Years. (All Other Post)

SSC JE Salary 2026 

Selected candidates will be appointed to Group ‘B’ posts in Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

The applicable allowances and benefits will be provided according to the rules of the concerned Government organisation.

SSC JE Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern 

The examination will be conducted in two papers, both through Computer-Based Examination.

PwBD candidates eligible for a scribe will receive the prescribed additional time.

Paper-I is qualifying in nature. Candidates are shortlisted for Paper-II based on normalized Paper-I marks and the prescribed qualifying criteria. Final merit is determined using normalized Paper-II marks and post/organisation preferences.

Negative Marking 

Candidates should be particularly careful while attempting the examination because negative marking applies in both papers.

• Paper-I: 0.25 mark deducted for every wrong answer
• Paper-II: 1 mark deducted for every wrong answer

The questions are objective-type MCQs and are set in Hindi and English.

How to Apply for SSC JE Recruitment 2026

Candidates can apply online for SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 through the official SSC website or the mySSC mobile application.

1. Visit the official SSC website.
2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website.
3. Log in using your Registration Number and Password.
4. Select Junior Engineer Examination, 2026.
5. Enter your educational qualification and other required details.
6. Select the relevant examination subject/stream.
7. Upload or capture the required photograph and signature.
8. Carefully check all the details in the application form.
9. Submit the application form.
10. Pay the applicable ₹100 application fee.
11. Check your payment status after making the payment.
12. Save or download the final application form for future reference.

Important: Candidates who created their OTR on the old SSC website will need to complete a fresh OTR on the new website, as the old OTR will not work on the new SSC website.

Important Instructions for Candidates

1. Candidates should enter their name and date of birth exactly as mentioned in their Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate. Any mismatch may lead to rejection or denial of entry to the examination.

2. Candidates should carefully check the essential educational qualification for their preferred post. If the qualification, category or any other claim cannot be supported by valid documents during document verification, their candidature may be cancelled.

3. Candidates can use Aadhaar-Based Authentication during OTR/application. Those who complete Aadhaar authentication may get certain relaxations related to examination-entry documents and photograph/signature rejection.
